On the evening of October 20, the Award Ceremony of the 4th Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation in 2024 took place at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Speaking at the award ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam noted that after 40 years of renovation, with the position and strength accumulated, with new opportunities and fortunes, we have gathered all the necessary conditions and are facing a historic opportunity to bring the country into a new era, an era of national growth, successfully implementing the 100-year strategic goals under the leadership of the Party, 100 years of the country's founding, striving to become a developed country with high income, following the socialist orientation by the middle of the 21st century.
To maximize the value of the Contest, continue to strengthen the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new revolutionary period, General Secretary and President To Lam suggested that it is necessary to unify the perception that protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints is a class struggle on the ideological and political theory front; it is the task of the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people, and an important task of the entire political system in building the Party and the political system.
Protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints must be closely linked to economic, cultural and social development, improving people's material and spiritual lives, and bringing prosperity and happiness to the people, which is the most crucial factor.
Speaking at the conclusion of the 2024 competition, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Competition Steering Committee said that this year's competition was launched at the end of January 2024.
The outstanding result this year is the huge number of entries, 468,792 works. The new feature this year is the large participation of young people, pupils and students with 35,000 works. The contest also attracted 610 works from Vietnamese people working and studying abroad, 13 works from foreigners.
At the Award Ceremony, the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the Contest awarded 20 collective prizes with outstanding achievements; Prizes for the oldest and youngest authors participating in the contest; 20 Promising prizes; 12 A prizes, 22 B prizes, 37 C prizes and 63 Encouragement prizes.
Also at the Award Ceremony, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda Nguyen Trong Nghia launched the fifth Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation - 2025.
