On October 6, the National Assembly Delegation of Ben Tre Province coordinated with the Ben Tre Provincial Federation of Labor to organize a meeting between National Assembly deputies and officials, union members, and workers. Here, voters expressed their opinions on issues including amendments to the Law on Employment, the Law on Social Insurance, and the Law on Trade Unions. In particular, the issue of enterprises owing social insurance (SI), health insurance (HI), and unemployment insurance (UI) for employees.
Voter Phan Huu Duy (Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province) - said that every month, the enterprise deducts social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance from employees but does not submit them to the social insurance agency. Therefore, the voter petitioned the National Assembly delegation to supervise and requested the Provincial People's Committee to handle this issue to ensure the rights of employees.
At the conference, Ms. Do Hong Van, member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of Women's Union (Vietnam General Confederation of Labor) said that in the past, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has repeatedly proposed solutions related to enterprises owing social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance to employees. Most recently, at the end of 2023, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor made recommendations to the Prime Minister regarding the above issue at the conference on coordination regulations between the Government and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Concluding the conference, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to advise and handle the above issue.
Ms. Van suggested that the National Assembly delegation of Ben Tre province give opinions on the above issue to the Ministry of Labor, War invalids and Social Affairs for advice to the Government in order to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of employees when enterprises owe social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance.
Mr. Doan Hai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Ben Tre province - said that during the inspection and supervision process of the interdisciplinary team established by the Social Insurance, they handled enterprises that owed social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance to employees, and at the same time, required the above enterprises to ensure the rights of employees.
In his concluding remarks at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Truc Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ben Tre Province, received opinions from voters who are officials, union members and workers related to the amendments to the draft Laws. At the same time, there will be reflections and recommendations from voters to the National Assembly to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Delegation of Ben Tre province presented 70 gifts (each worth 500,000 VND in cash) to workers.
