On the morning of January 20, the 14th National Party Congress (Party Congress XIV) solemnly opened at the National Convention Center, Hanoi Capital.
With the motto "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the 14th Party Congress had the participation of 1,586 delegates, representing more than 5.6 million party members.
At the opening session, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, on behalf of the Secretariat serving the 14th Congress - read the announcement about congratulatory letters and telegrams from political parties, organizations and international friends sent to the Congress.
Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van said that the 14th Party Congress takes place at a historically significant time, a milestone marking the 40th anniversary of Doi Moi and the beginning of the new development era of Vietnam.
Implementing consistently the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, in the past 40 years of renovation, the Communist Party of Vietnam has continuously expanded, consolidated and deepened relations with Communist Parties, workers, leftists, ruling Parties and Parties around the world.
During the days when the entire Party, people and army welcomed the important political event of the 14th Party Congress, the Party, organizations and international friends... continuously sent letters and telegrams to celebrate and congratulate the Congress to express their friendship and cooperation and express deep concern for the important political event of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
As of January 19, the 14th Party Congress received 559 congratulatory letters and telegrams from 109 political parties, 6 international and regional organizations, 16 individuals, 122 people's organizations and 306 Vietnamese associations abroad.
This is a great source of encouragement and motivation for the renovation of the Vietnamese people initiated and led by the Communist Party of Vietnam.
These things are vivid expressions of Vietnam's friendly cooperation relationship with international friends.
The Secretariat of the Congress then reported 5 congratulatory telegrams from ruling Communist Parties, ruling parties from neighboring countries, traditional friends including: Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Chinese Communist Party, Cambodian People's Party, Cuban Communist Party, Workers' Party of Korea.
Along with that are 31 congratulatory messages from Asian and Oceanic countries; 26 congratulatory messages from European countries and congratulatory messages from individuals, political organizations, people's organizations and localities abroad...
Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van clearly stated that the Congress would like to express its respect, gratitude, friendship, cooperation, relationships, encouragement, support and valuable assistance from political parties, organizations and international friends who have given to the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people.
