On December 15, in Pleiku city (Gia Lai province), the Party Committee and Command of the 34th Corps held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Corps.
General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense attended and delivered a speech.
At the ceremony, delegates heard the announcement of the Minister of National Defense's Decision on dissolving Army Corps 3 and Army Corps 4.
The Party Committee and Command of the 34th Corps announced the Decision dated December 10, 2024 of the Minister of National Defense on the establishment of the 34th Corps.

The 34th Corps was established on the basis of the 3rd Corps - Tay Nguyen Corps and the 4th Corps - Cuu Long Corps, which are units with a long history and glorious traditions.
In recent years, officers and soldiers of Army Corps 3 and Army Corps 4 have promoted the glorious tradition of the nation, united and creatively carried out military and defense tasks, and constantly innovated training and education work.
At the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang presented the Victory Flag to the 34th Army Corps. The General emphasized: "The dissolution of the 3rd and 4th Army Corps and the establishment of the 34th Army Corps is a major policy, a very important event, marking the maturity and development of our Army."

The 34th Corps is an Army Corps organized in the direction of being lean, compact, strong, and advancing towards modernity. The Corps' scale and force organization will be larger. The 34th Corps must quickly stabilize its organization and staffing, do a good job of ideological and policy work, and be highly combat-ready.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Ba Luc - Commander of the 34th Corps affirmed: "The birth of the 34th Corps marks the development, maturity and growth of our army in general and the corps in particular in the new revolutionary period.
This is a major policy, demonstrating the strategic thinking, vision, and correct and timely decisions of the Politburo, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense in leading, directing, building, organizing forces, and deploying them, ready to defeat all forms of future aggressive wars."
