This morning (October 2), at the National Shooting Range Region 1, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defence, Head of the exercise - attended and directed the implementation of the live-fire content in the Hanoi City Defense Area Exercise 2024.
The live-fire combat exercise with the theme "Infantry regiment reinforced with technical weapons attacks the enemy temporarily defending" took place at the following locations: National Shooting Range Region 1, Hoa Thach Shooting Range, Dong Doi Shooting Range and Xuan Bang Shooting Range.
The practical exercise took place in 3 phases, with the coordination of troops and branches with many forms of combat, using many types of weapons, equipment, and modern techniques manufactured, improved, and produced by the Army; using information technology applications, transmitting images directly during the exercise.
This is a very important exercise, aiming to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement Conclusion No. 64 of the Politburo on promoting the implementation of Resolution No. 28 on continuing to build provinces and centrally-run cities into strong defense zones in the new situation; Resolution No. 44 of the 13th Party Central Committee on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation and guiding documents on the construction and operation of defense zones.
This exercise is the first time that 28 departments, ministries and branches have joined the Steering Committee for the exercise, directing Hanoi City to conduct the exercise, demonstrating the great concern of departments, ministries, branches and localities for the task of national defense, security and protection of the Fatherland. The exercise has the participation of many components and forces.
Speaking after the end of the live-fire exercise, General Phan Van Giang commended and acknowledged the efforts of the forces participating in the exercise and completing their tasks well.
The forces, services, and especially the actions of the infantry on the battlefield were well coordinated, demonstrating good training; the combat shooting practice ensured absolute safety on all training grounds.
Minister Phan Van Giang affirmed that Hanoi had a very successful exercise. At the same time, General Phan Van Giang requested that after the exercise, agencies and units should draw lessons, organize a summary of awards, and pay special attention to inspecting weapons and equipment systems; return to the unit to continue checking the technical condition, and properly preserve and maintain weapons and equipment, ensuring absolute safety.
