At the meeting, the leader of Lang Son province reported outstanding results achieved in 2024 and in the first quarter of 2025.
Accordingly, the GRDP growth rate of the whole province reached 8.27%, ranked 23/63 provinces and cities nationwide; ranked 7/14 provinces in the northern midland and mountainous region. The total import -export turnover through the area increased by 24%, industrial production increased by 5.22%, the budget revenue increased by 24.8%.
The fields of culture, education and health continue to have many positive changes. Many policies to support the poor have been implemented synchronously such as housing support, health insurance cards, electricity support, vocational training, job creation ...
The work of building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, ensuring social security has been implemented effectively.
Defense and People's Diplomatic activities have been strengthened, especially in cooperative relationships with Guangxi province (China), contributing to building a peaceful, stable and sustainable border area.
Appreciating the efforts and comprehensive results of the province, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that Lang Son has made an important step in socio -economic development associated with consolidating national defense and security.
The Minister suggested that the Provincial Standing Committee continue to pay attention to the work of building the Party, strengthening the strong political system, ensuring solidarity and internal unity, especially in strategic areas such as remote areas and borders.
The province needs to well implement ethnic and religious policies, strengthen the great unity bloc of the entire people, build a solid "posture of the people's heart". At the same time, continuing to effectively implement the Politburo's Resolution 11 on the development of the Northern Midlands and Mountains, promoting the implementation of the planning of Lang Son province in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
The Minister also noted that the province "Rooster" needs to promote the strength of the border gate economy, promote the restructuring of the agricultural sector associated with building a new countryside, ensuring national defense and security, improving people's lives.
General Phan Van Giang praised the close coordination between the Provincial Party Committee, the authorities and the people of Lang Son and the military units in the preparation for the 9th Vietnam -China border friendship exchange.
The program will take place from 16 to 17.4 in Lang Son (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Choang Ethnic Autonomous Region (China).
The Minister of Defense also wants Lang Son to continue improving the quality of national defense education, well performing the state management of national defense, building a strong provincial armed forces, contributing to maintaining political, defense, security and promoting socio -economic development in the area.
