On April 25, at Dien Hong Hall - National Assembly House, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee coordinated with the Central Party Office; National Assembly Office; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations to organize a National Conference to summarize 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Speaking at the conference, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia said that over the past 50 years, under the leadership of the Party, Vietnamese literature and art have had strong development steps, achieving important achievements, from theoretical thinking to creative practice, methods of dissemination and reception trends.
However, the country's literature and art sector has not yet developed commensurate with its potential and is facing fierce challenges. That practice requires summarizing 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art; setting out directions, tasks, and development solutions in the new period.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized a number of tasks and solutions to continue to strongly promote the role and mission of literature, art and the team of artists, focusing on building an advanced Vietnamese literature and art with strong national identity in the new development stage.
In particular, it is necessary to focus on improving the Party's leadership capacity, associated with strongly innovating thinking, appropriate and effective leadership methods to create directions and spaces for developing literature and art; improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, promote the institutionalization of the Party's policies, viewpoints, tasks and solutions on literature and art; strongly promote the development of the fields of research, theory, criticism of literature and art.
Promote international exchanges and cooperation in literature and art, contributing to continuing to promote the soft power of Vietnamese culture; effectively implement the Central's policies, continue to reorganize, innovate methods, improve the quality of activities of literary and artistic associations at the central and local levels, ensure streamlining, professionalism, and effective, efficient and efficient operations.
Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: Our country is entering a new era - the era of national growth, with intertwined opportunities and challenges. More than ever, the Vietnamese artist community needs to continue to "stand shoulder to shoulder", "united heart and strength", together carrying out the noble mission and heavy but glorious responsibility to the Fatherland and the people.
