The country's situation after nearly 40 years of renovation has become increasingly ripe: the economy has grown steadily, the international position has been upgraded, and modern infrastructure has clearly formed. But the country can only make a breakthrough when the people agree. That is the trust, responsibility and solidarity of more than 100 million Vietnamese people in the journey to create a strong nation.
The time when the country converged
Looking back over the past 5 years, the Vietnamese economy has maintained its growth rate as one of the highest in the region, despite disruptions in the global supply chain and geopolitical fluctuations. In 2024, import-export turnover will exceed 700 billion USD, in 2025, it is expected to have an import-export turnover of over 910 billion USD, and a 6-year consecutive period of over-export has demonstrated the competitiveness of the economy. New industries such as semiconductors, data centers, energy batteries, and green industry are being selected by global corporations, demonstrating their confidence in the Vietnamese investment environment.
An important measure of the country's position is that strategic infrastructure has made strong strides. By the end of 2025, the country will have nearly 2,000km of highways; projects such as Long Thanh airport, the North-South high-speed railway, and international transit ports are being promoted. Digital infrastructure is developing rapidly with more than 80% of level 4 online public services.
December 19 will become the Infrastructure Festival to celebrate the 14th Party Congress with more than 230 projects started and inaugurated with a total capital of up to 1.1 million billion VND, showing the efforts to create a foundation for the 2026-2030 period to take off.
In the international arena, Vietnam is considered a "bright spot of peace and stability", a strategic partner of major economic and political centers. Becoming one of the world's top 20 trading economies, home to many international forums and international trust partners has strengthened the country's position, creating a foundation for the aspiration for 2045.
The preparation of the 14th Congress Documents clearly demonstrates the long-term vision: rapid - sustainable development, based on science - technology, innovation, green economy and digital economy. These are important milestones confirming the wide and deep convergence of water.
The people's hearts agree to create soft power to create breakthroughs
In parallel with the country's rise, the consensus of the people is the "soft power measure" that determines the success of all policies. People's kindness is not an empty concept, but expressed in each specific action of workers, businesses, farmers, and intellectuals every day.
In 2025, there will be two major political activities: collecting opinions on contributing to amending the 2013 Constitution and collecting people's opinions on the 14th National Party Congress Documents. More than 280 million comments from agencies, organizations and individuals on the draft Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution and the approval rate of 99.75% have affirmed that the content of amending and supplementing the Constitution has achieved high consensus and unity; accurately reflecting the will and aspirations of the people.
Meanwhile, the collection of opinions from cadres, Party members and people into the 14th National Party Congress Documents also showed high efficiency, with millions of contributions. In the Vietnam Fatherland Front system, there were 527,764 comments through direct and written forms, 28,497 comments from seminars and scientific seminars.
In industrial parks, millions of workers are working hard to maintain production lines. Despite the impact of lack of orders, they still maintain a sense of responsibility, contributing to Vietnam's export momentum. Many initiatives of "Good workers - Creative workers" have helped businesses save tens of billions of VND each year.
In rural areas, despite natural conditions and extreme weather, digital transformation models in agriculture in the provinces are helping farmers increase their income by 20-40%. Many agricultural cooperatives digitize production processes, trace the origin, and bring agricultural products to supermarket systems and international markets. This is a vivid manifestation of the proactive adaptation of the people. The expected agricultural exports of over 70 billion USD is a record that proves the people's spirit of overcoming difficulties.
In the business community, the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation continues to spread. Vietnam currently has nearly 4,000 digital technology enterprises, many start-ups calling for millions of USD in the fields of AI, fintech, digital logistics. Such entrepreneurs are contributing to shaping Vietnam's "new economic map".
The community also strongly accompanies major programs: green transformation movement, energy saving, plastic waste reduction, electronic identification applications... People's proactiveness in using online public services, in online learning, in accessing new knowledge shows a dynamic society, ready to enter the digital age. The consensus of the people is the driving force for policies on administrative reform, national digital transformation and sustainable development to come into life.
Power towards a prosperous Vietnam
To achieve the goal of becoming a developed country with high income by 2045, Vietnam must converge both factors: strong national position and strong people's heart. The country's position creates competitiveness, while the people's hearts create energy to implement reform, maintain stability and promote innovation.
First of all, it is necessary to continue to strengthen the great solidarity bloc - the core strength of the nation over many periods. When all classes of people, businesses, intellectuals, religious communities and overcomes all difficulties, all difficulties can be overcome. This has been most clearly demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the subsequent economic recovery process.
In addition, we must expand democracy and promote the role of the people in national governance. People need to participate in criticizing and supervising development programs; have transparent access to information; and enjoy the fruits of growth through better social security. Policies on social housing, basic health care, education, social insurance, etc. need to continue to be improved to ensure "no one is left behind".
To balance the country and the people's hearts, it is necessary to build a culture of self-reliance with the spirit of constantly rising up. That spirit is demonstrated through mastering core technology, from AI to semiconductors; through Vietnamese people standing firm in the global supply chain; and through the aspirations of the younger generation. These are the ones who will continue to step forward to 2045.
The convergence of the country and the consensus of the people will create a combined strength to make Vietnam strong breakthroughs, narrow the gap with developed countries and realize the goal of becoming a strong nation.
Vietnam's aspiration for 2045 is not only an economic goal, but also an affirmation of the nation's will to rise up. When the country is strong, people's hearts are peaceful, and confidence is strengthened, the country will have enough internal strength to go quickly, go steadily and go far. The consensus of the people and the strategic vision of the Party are two pillars for Vietnam to break through and conquer new heights in the development journey of the 21st century.
