As reported by Lao Dong, after collecting opinions and receiving high consensus and agreement from the people, the Project to reorganize Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to establish Bac Ninh province was submitted to the Government on April 28, before the prescribed time.
According to the Project, the two provinces of Bac Ninh - Bac Giang will merge and have a new name, Bac Ninh province, the administrative center will be located in the current Bac Giang city. The new Bac Ninh province will have a total of 99 communes and wards; population of 3,619,433 people.
The project also clearly states the organizational structure of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province (new) after the merger.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh Province (new) will include the Chairman of the People's Committee, the Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee and the members of the People's Committee (the head of the police, the military and the specialized agencies) appointed by the Prime Minister in accordance with the Law on Organization of the local government, conclusion No. 150-KL/TW of the Politburo and decentralization of personnel management.
Arrange and merge 28 Departments and specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province and the People's Committee of Bac Giang province into 15 Departments and specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province (new), including:

The Department of Science and Technology of Bac Ninh province, after the arrangement: There are 6 departments, 6 departments reduced; there is 1 branch; there are 3 public service units.
Department of Home Affairs of Bac Ninh province, after the arrangement: There are 8 departments, 10 departments reduced; there are 5 public service units.
Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health, after the arrangement: There are 8 departments, 7 departments reduced; 2 branches, 1 branch increased.

Bac Ninh Provincial Inspectorate, after the arrangement: There are 9 departments (expected according to the previous plan of the Government Inspectorate); 23 departments are reduced (including 21 inspectors transferred by departments).
