Localities in Binh Phuoc province are collecting opinions on the draft project to reorganize administrative units at the commune and ward levels.
According to the draft of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province, the whole province currently has 111 administrative units. After the arrangement, it is expected that there will be 42 administrative units, including 8 wards and 34 communes.
Dong Xoai city still has 2 wards: Binh Phuoc ward and Dong Xoai ward;
Chon Thanh town still has 3 communes and wards including: Minh Hung ward, Chon Thanh ward and Nha Bich commune;
Binh Long town still has 2 wards: An Loc ward and Binh Long ward;
Phuoc Long town still has 2 wards: Phuoc Binh ward and Phuoc Long ward;
Hon Quan district still has 4 communes including: Tan Quan, Tan Hung, Tan Khai and Minh Duc;
Loc Ninh district still has 6 communes, including: Loc Thanh, Loc Tan, Loc Ninh, Loc Hung, Loc Thanh and Loc Quang;
Phu Rieng district still has 4 communes including: Long Hung, Long Ha, Phu Rieng and Phu Trung;
Dong Phu district still has 4 communes including: Thuan Loi, Dong Tam, Dong Phu and Tan Phuoc;
Bu Dang district still has 7 communes including: Dang Ha, Phuoc Son, Nghia Trung, Bu Dang, Tho Son, Dak Nhau and Bom Bo;
Bu Gia Map district still has 5 communes, including: Dak O, Duc Hanh, Phu Nghia, Da Kia, Bu Gia Map;
Bu Dop district still has 3 communes including: Hung Phuoc, Thien Hung and Tan Tien.
According to records, Binh Phuoc is a province in the Southeast region. In 1976, Binh Phuoc and Binh Duong provinces merged together to name Song Be province. In 1997, Song Be province was divided into two provinces, Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc.
Binh Phuoc province currently has a natural area of over 6,873 km2. The population is over 1.14 million people. The province has 111 commune-level administrative units and 11 district-level administrative units.
