On the afternoon of April 16, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man had meetings with ethiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, who is on an official visit to Vietnam and attending the 4th Summit of the Partnership Forum for Green Growth and the 2030 Global Goal (P4G) from April 14 to 17, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
President Luong Cuong congratulated the ethiopia Prime Minister on having successful meetings and talks with General Secretary To Lam; Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and believed that this official visit would bring the Vietnam - Ethiopia friendship cooperation to a new, more substantial and effective page, commensurate with the trust and political trust between the two countries, bringing benefits to the two countries as well as the two regions.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali informed the President about Ethiopia's socio-economic achievements and emphasized that this visit is to affirm the determination of the State and Government of Ethiopia in strengthening and developing multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.
The two leaders agreed to increase delegation exchanges and high-level contacts across all channels and effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms. President Luong Cuong suggested that relevant agencies of the two countries actively negotiate to soon sign documents, complete the legal framework, and facilitate bilateral cooperation, especially in potential areas such as agriculture, mining, electronics, telecommunications, and digital transformation.
The Ethiopia Prime Minister highly appreciated Vietnam's strengths in the agricultural sector and expressed his wish that Vietnam would share experiences and support Ethiopia in this field, contributing to ensuring sustainable food security for Ethiopia.

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali's visit is an important milestone, not only affirming the commitment of the two countries to further deepen bilateral relations, but also opening up new opportunities to promote cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, agriculture, education and sustainable development.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed the signing of a number of important cooperation documents on politics, diplomacy, economy, trade and education. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly supports and will supervise and encourage Government agencies to actively implement cooperation agreements between the two countries.
The Ethiopia Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is a trusted friend of the Ethiopia people and the determination of the Ethiopia Government in consolidating and developing, opening a new chapter in the Vietnam - Ethiopia cooperation relationship, including cooperation between parliamentary bodies.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly is committed to creating favorable legal conditions, promoting policies to support bilateral cooperation, especially in areas where the two countries have strengths and potential such as agriculture, green technology and education, and is ready to coordinate with the ethiopia National Assembly to strengthen parliamentary relations, share legislative and supervisory experiences, and cooperate at multilateral forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to jointly promote initiatives for peace and development.
