Gia Lai - The Gia Lai ">Gia Lai Army and People have achieved many glorious feats, contributing to the Great Spring Victory on April 30, 1975, national reunification.

On the morning of March 17, in Pleiku city, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Gia Lai province (March 17, 1975 - March 17, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were leaders of central ministries, branches, leaders of Kon Tum province, and generations of leaders of Gia Lai province through the ages.

The ceremony also had the participation of representatives of the leaders of Military Region 5, Army Corps 3, Army Corps 15, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor, along with a large number of cadres, Party members and people.

At the ceremony, Mr. Ho Van Nien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee - emphasized: "Gia Lai is a land rich in historical traditions, where the typical cultural convergence of 44 ethnic groups coexists together".

According to Provincial Party Secretary Ho Van Nien, during the resistance war, under the wise leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, the Party Central Committee and the Government, the Party Committee, army and people of Gia Lai ethnic groups fought steadfastly, built fighting villages and invincible guards such as Stor, Soap Dui, Gao commune...

The army and people of Gia Lai have achieved many resounding feats, typically the victory of Dak Po, Suoi Voi - Roc Dua... contributing significantly to the overall victory of the whole country.

"By March 17, 1975, Gia Lai province was completely liberated, contributing to the Great Victory of April 30, 1975, national reunification" - Mr. Ho Van Nien added.

During the renovation period, Gia Lai province has achieved many important achievements. Implementing the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, the province's economic growth rate (GRDP) is estimated to average 6.36%/year.

The economic scale increased by 1.9 times compared to the beginning of the term, the economic structure shifted reasonably, reflecting the harmonious development between sectors and fields.

The poverty rate according to the new criteria will decrease to 6.06% by the end of 2024. National defense and security potential is constantly being consolidated and enhanced.

After half a century of construction and development, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Gia Lai province have been awarded many noble awards by the Party and State, including: title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; Gold Star Order; 4 Ho Chi Minh Orders and many other honors.
