On December 9, at the working program of the 44th session (regular session at the end of 2025), the People's Council of Lang Son province, term XVII, 2021 - 2026, conducted the contents of personnel improvement under its authority, notably electing additional members of the Provincial People's Committee for Colonel Vu Thanh Tung, Director of Lang Son Provincial Police.
Colonel Vu Thanh Tung was transferred and appointed by the Ministry of Public Security to hold the position of Director of Lang Son Provincial Police from November 21, 2025, after working at the Ministry of Public Security as Deputy Director of the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling.
At the session, the delegates of the Provincial People's Council unanimously elected Colonel Vu Thanh Tung to hold the position of Member of the Provincial People's Committee, term XVII, 2021 - 2026.
With the same personnel content at the meeting, the Provincial People's Council dismissed Major General Nguyen Tien Trung, former Director of Lang Son Provincial Police, from the position of Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Police from November 21, 2025.
The Provincial People's Council also implemented the process of dismissing comrade Hoang Van Nghiem, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation from the duties of a Provincial People's Council delegate.
Previously, on October 5, 2025, the Politburo issued Decision No. 2452 to transfer and appoint comrade Hoang Van Nghiem to hold the position of Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term, from October 15, 2025.
Then, on October 20, 2025, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1870 approving the election results of the Comrade to hold the position of Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th Provincial People's Assembly of Son La.
