On December 9, the National Assembly discussed reports on crime prevention and control and law violations; enforcement of judgments; corruption prevention and control in 2025.
Delegate Nguyen Thi Thuy (Thai Nguyen Delegation) highly appreciated the direction of the Ministry of Public Security in the fight against crime, accordingly focusing not only on major cases but also any act that is dangerous to society, causing disorder and social safety must be strictly handled.
The delegate gave an example, recently, the police have prosecuted a series of violent hooliganism acts, such as the case of beating a shipper to deliver goods in Hanoi or the case of using a leather belt to beat and arrest a driver on the knees in the middle of the road in Nghe An.
At the same time, the police agency launched a series of peak periods to attack and suppress counterfeit goods crimes... which had deterrent and preventive effects.
According to the delegate, although the crime rate this year has decreased sharply, people are still worried about the situation of taking advantage of high technology to commit crimes, commit fraud on cyberspace, and lure people to have high salaries to cross the border and produce and trade fake goods such as food, foodstuffs, and medicine.
Therefore, the female delegate recommended that the Ministry of Public Security continue to promote the achievements in the past time, continuously launching peak periods to suppress and strongly attack these types of crimes.
Delegate Pham Van Hoa (Dong Thap Delegation) said that although crimes against the law on social order have decreased significantly, some crimes have increased such as: Fraudulent appropriation of property, disturbing public order, rape, manufacturing and trading counterfeit goods, tax evasion, causing environmental pollution, there are cases of murder that are very brutal, causing outrage and anxiety among the people.
Juvenile crimes have decreased significantly but are reckless and disregard the law. School ethics, violence against doctors still occur, the number of drug addicts is still high, crimes are complicated.
Food safety crimes have been going on for a long time before being discovered, with the support of celebrities. Fraudulent goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods in food and cosmetics cause insecurity and anxiety among the people and have the support of specialized internal staff to make profits.
In the coming time, the delegate proposed to focus on education, propaganda, and prevention of all types of crimes nationwide, especially in key areas of national security, social order and safety such as urban areas, rural areas, and border areas.
Proactively deploy solutions to curb, reduce crime, attack and suppress all types of crimes in various fields, especially crimes that are of public interest and people's interest.
These include high-tech crimes, crimes organized by gambling, online fraud that cause many people to lose money and get sick, families to disband; disturbing public order, robberies, fighting back against law enforcement officers; environmental crimes, booths, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, dirty food, causing harm to consumers and school-age children, preschools, and primary schools.
The delegate also proposed to increase the force to be strong enough for the police in communes and wards, especially investigators with practical experience, in-depth legal knowledge, adequate facilities and professional means, meeting the requirements of serving the people and preventing and combating crimes.
