On December 27, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council (HPC) held a conference to summarize the work of the 10th term, term 2021-2026 at the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Convention Center (Ba Ria ward).

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Vo Van Minh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council - said that the summary conference was implemented according to the direction of the National Assembly Standing Committee, aiming to comprehensively and objectively assess the situation and operating results of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council term X, term 2021-2026.
The 2021-2026 term takes place in an extremely difficult and complex context with many unpredictable and unprecedented fluctuations. Ho Chi Minh City must both focus highly on COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control, and make efforts to restore and develop socio-economics in new conditions to ensure social security and stabilize people's lives. At the same time, deploy many important tasks on arranging the organizational apparatus, implementing the two-level local government model...
The summary conference is very important, and is an opportunity to systematically and comprehensively review the achieved results; frankly recognize the shortcomings and limitations; analyze the causes, draw lessons learned, and make a practical basis for continuing to innovate and improve the quality, efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency of operations in the new term.
Approving 1,650 resolutions, handling more than 610,000 reflected information
After listening to the reports at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly - commented that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has clearly shown political bravery, high sense of responsibility and dedication to the people. Expressed through images closely associated with voters, during the term it has received and processed more than 610,000 news reports through the switchboard; passed 1,650 resolutions, deployed 138 supervision topics, with very large scale and intensity. What is worth noting is not only the number of tasks but also the increasingly substantive way of working.
Besides those results, it is also necessary to recognize that the pressure of a special urban area is posing increasingly high requirements. Some specific policies still have delays when entering life; supervision in complex areas requires being more sharp and closer... These are important room for the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in the next term to continue to innovate and improve, in order to ensure that each issued resolution truly becomes an institutional lever, liberating and maximizing development resources. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also suggested a number of key tasks for the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council to pay attention to and implement well in the coming time.
Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang also said that in the past 6 months, the People's Council has proactively reviewed and issued many resolutions to improve institutions after merging the 3 localities, creating an important legal foundation for the stability and development of the city.
In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City is facing many great opportunities but also facing many challenges. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council must act decisively, effectively, and proactively take the lead in concretizing the major policies of the Party and the resolutions of the National Assembly. Continue to affirm the role of institution-building, closely accompanying the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in removing bottlenecks and promoting the implementation of key projects," Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang emphasized.
A very important task in the coming time is to prepare carefully for the election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term and People's Council deputies of all levels for the new term, ensuring compliance with regulations, democracy, publicity, transparency, safety and economy.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also organized the awarding of commemorative medals "For the cause of building and developing Ho Chi Minh City" to individuals who have made many contributions to activities in the past term.
