During his official visit to the Dominican Republic on November 21 (local time), in the capital Santo Domingo, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received General Secretary of the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Mayor of Santo Domingo City - Ms. Carolina Mejia.
At the reception, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed General Secretary To Lam's regards to General Secretary Carolina Mejia and the PRM Leadership Board. General Secretary Carolina Mejia expressed her sincere thanks and, through the Prime Minister, conveyed her sincere regards to General Secretary To Lam and the Leadership Board of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm and respectful reception given to the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation by the Government and the PRM Party leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the PRM Party on its victory in the two recent presidential elections, highly appreciated the increasingly important role and political influence of the PRM Party in the Dominican Republic, and affirmed that Vietnam wishes to promote and move towards establishing official relations between the two Parties in the coming time.
The Prime Minister asked the PRM Party and other parties in the ruling coalition to support the effective implementation of the directions and measures reached by the two sides at the talks between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Luis Abinader Corona, contributing to further consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries towards the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (July 7, 2005 - July 7, 2025).
Pleased to receive Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, General Secretary Carolina Mejia assessed the Prime Minister's visit as a historic milestone in the relationship between the two countries, creating an important driving force to promote the friendship and good cooperation between Vietnam and the Dominican Republic.
General Secretary Carolina Mejia pledged to actively support the implementation of the two governments' directions and measures to bring bilateral friendship and cooperation to new heights.
General Secretary Carolina Mejia expressed her wish to establish a communication channel and enhance cooperation between the two Parties to share information and experience in Party building and leadership of the ruling party, especially in leading socio-economic development in each country.
This is the final activity of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his working trip to attend the G20 Summit; conduct a number of bilateral activities in Brazil and pay an official visit to the Dominican Republic.
That same evening, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the Vietnamese delegation, left Santo Domingo and returned home, successfully concluding their working trip.
