Attending the meeting were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Award Steering Committee; Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Do Duc Hoang - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television; Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that the national defense and anti-corruption, waste and negativity journalism tournament has been successfully organized 4 times, receiving increasing attention from press agencies, reporters and the people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha suggested that the meeting focus on reviewing work, discussing how to organize to improve the quality of press awards; focus on evaluating tasks to ensure implementation meets requirements and progress.
In addition, discuss the proposal to supplement the tournament's rules to update new policies and solutions in the fight against waste and negativity; discuss specific solutions and work to focus on in the coming time, including promoting propaganda work.

Previously, on June 19, 2024, the Organizing Committee of the 5th National Press Award on Anti-Corruption and Negative Behavior issued a giai thuong. Authors who are Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad with press works that meet the criteria and rules of the award, published and distributed in various types of newspapers (prints, electronic newspapers, radio, television) from November 5, 2023 to July 31, 2025 on press agencies licensed by competent State agencies to operate press activities with the right to submit works to participate in the award.
On January 10, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front issued a decision to change the name of the "All-Defense, Anti-Corruption and Negative Press Award" to "All-Defense, Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Press Award".
