On the afternoon of November 12, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with King Jordan Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh warmly welcomed King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein on an official visit to Vietnam, on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1980 - 2025). The Prime Minister expressed his hope that bilateral cooperation will enter a new stage of development, with higher political trust, deeper humanitarian exchanges, and more substantial and effective economic cooperation.
Appreciating the similarities between Vietnam and Jordan, King Jordan affirmed that the two countries have great potential to learn from and share experiences with each other, including important areas to help both sides cope with global challenges, notably areas such as agriculture, technology, Halal development, etc.
The King also suggested that the two sides increase exchanges and exchange activities between students of the two countries to strengthen the effectiveness of the bridge between the two countries and peoples.
To effectively implement the substantive results of the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein agreed that the two countries need to continue to strengthen political trust through increasing contacts, exchanging delegations at all levels, especially at high levels, and promoting cooperation in defense and security, improving the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms between the two countries.
In the field of economy - trade - investment, the two sides agreed to promote cooperation on the basis of promoting the potential, strengths and development requirements of each country, including facilitating each other's goods.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam is ready to create conditions for large Jordanese corporations to invest in Vietnam, and at the same time suggested that businesses of the two countries study the possibility of cooperation and joint investment, especially in the fields of infrastructure development, green economy, digital economy, telecommunications, manufacturing, agricultural processing, etc., promoting the connection of the startup and innovation ecosystem between the two countries.
Regarding agricultural cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the two sides need to seek new cooperation models to improve efficiency and reduce production costs, such as implementing on-site export projects - a model that Vietnam has successfully implemented in a number of countries. The Prime Minister suggested that ministries, branches and enterprises of the two sides soon discuss specifically on this direction of cooperation.
In addition, the Prime Minister also suggested that the Jordan side increase support for Vietnam in developing the Halal industry.
The king of Jordan said the two countries could implement bilateral cooperation projects, as well as tripartite cooperation to improve project implementation efficiency.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein also discussed measures to promote cooperation in the fields of education - training, people-to-people exchanges, tourism, healthcare, and perfecting the legal framework...
The King of Jordan said that he will direct relevant agencies to research and soon grant scholarships to Vietnamese students to learn Arabian at the request of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
