On the afternoon of September 29, the Central Internal Affairs Commission - the Standing Agency of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity (Steering Committee) - informed about the results of the Standing Committee meeting on the morning of September 29.

At the announcement ceremony, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan - Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security - informed about the case that occurred at the facilities 2 of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital.
According to Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan, in July 2025, the Ministry of Public Security informed about the prosecution of 5 defendants, and up to this point, 2 additional defendants have been prosecuted. Thus, a total of 7 defendants have been prosecuted.
There are 3 main groups of crimes in this case including: Violating state asset management causing loss and waste; Fraudulent appropriation of property; Taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties.
"For this case, up to now, 14.5 billion VND has been recovered" - Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan informed.
Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan said that the group of behaviors that have been identified as specific violations is violations in hiring foreign consultants, approving contractor selection plans and organizing contractor selection, causing waste. According to the investigation agency, the waste caused a loss of 80 billion VND to the state.
"Up to this point, the investigation agency continues to expand the investigation and clarify the violations" - Mr. Toan said.
At the announcement ceremony, Mr. Dang Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission - said that regarding a number of tasks in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee has requested Party committees, Party organizations, and competent agencies to focus on leading and directing a number of tasks.
This includes the content of focusing on inspection, examination, investigation, and final handling of serious, complicated corruption, waste, and negativity cases and incidents that are of public concern.
Strive to complete the investigation, prosecution and trial of 22 cases by the end of 2025 and before the 14th National Party Congress, complete the verification and handling of 6 cases. Especially cases related to Thuan An Group (phase II); waste cases related to the project to build the second facility of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital; the project to build the VICEM Operating Center, Vietnam Cement Corporation; cases related to the field of food safety; cases occurring at the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry.
