On August 6, the National Assembly Standing Committee held a National Assembly Forum on supervision activities with the theme "National Assembly supervision to create development".
Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that currently, the continuous changes in the socio-economy require us to adjust laws, decrees and circulars to suit the world and domestic situation.
The National Assembly Chairman said that the National Assembly Standing Committee needs to accept the opinions of National Assembly deputies to later revise the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils (HDND), and submit it to the National Assembly for consideration and approval at the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly.
At the 9th session, we had a resolution on amending the Constitution, passing 34 laws and about 34 resolutions. This 10th session, the Government will submit over 90 contents, with 47 laws. In the spirit of this 10th Session, any laws that are subject to the simplified process of being passed at the session will be submitted by the Government" - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized.
Previously, on July 10, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave its opinion on the summary of the 9th Session and gave initial comments on the preparation for the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Reporting at the meeting, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung said that the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly is expected to take place in about 1.5 months with 30 working days.
Due to the large number of legislative, supervisory and decision-making contents on important issues at the session, many of which are difficult and complicated, the Secretary General of the National Assembly and the Head of the National Assembly Office proposed to organize the 10th Session in 2 sessions.
The division into these 2 phases is to give agencies time to absorb, explain, revise, and complete draft laws and resolutions with the best quality before submitting them to the National Assembly for approval.
The first phase lasted about 20 days, mainly arranging the discussion of the contents submitted to the National Assembly for approval at the Session and discussing in the Group a number of draft laws submitted to the National Assembly for comments; questioning and answering questions.
The second phase lasted about 10 days, mainly arranged for the National Assembly to vote to pass laws, resolutions and discuss a number of draft laws submitted to the National Assembly for comments.
The break between the two meetings is about 7 - 9 days.
