Hoa Binh - Regarding the case of destroying forest land for illegal construction reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the Inspection Committee of Da Bac District Party Committee disciplined a series of commune leaders.

On September 26, the Inspection Committee (IC) of Da Bac District Party Committee said that the unit had just held a meeting to consider disciplinary action against members of the Standing Committee (SCC) of Dong Chum Commune Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.

At the meeting, after reviewing and assessing the nature, level, and violations of the Party Committee's Executive Committee and individual members of the Party Committee's Executive Committee for violations in leadership, land management, planning management, and construction order occurring in Moi hamlet, Dong Chum commune, the District Party Committee's Inspection Commission voted to implement the disciplinary process, as follows:

Warnings were given to two comrades: Luong Van Hot - Party Secretary, Chairman of Dong Chum Commune People's Council and Luong Van Thinh - Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of Dong Chum Commune People's Committee.

Reprimanded 2 comrades including: Xa Van Khuong - Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Dong Chum Commune Party Committee and Xa Van Thuan - Member of the Standing Committee of Dong Chum Commune Party Committee, Head of Commune Police.

In addition, the District Party Committee's Inspection Commission submitted to the Da Bac District Party Committee a decision to discipline the Party Committee of Dong Chum commune in the form of reprimand.

The Inspection Committee of Da Bac District Party Committee also requested the District People's Committee, District Police, Dong Chum Commune Party Committee, Dong Ruong Commune Party Committee to lead and direct the review, consider responsibilities, and discipline related Party organizations and Party members; promptly correct the violations and shortcomings pointed out.

Previously, at the end of May 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper published a series of articles reflecting on the illegal leveling and construction activities on forest land taking place in Moi hamlet, Dong Chum commune, Da Bac district.

Mr. Luong Van Thinh - Chairman of Dong Chum Commune People's Committee - said that the people who carried out the illegal leveling were Mr. Truong Van Ha (born in 1961, Thanh Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi) and Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu (born in 1985, Thach Ly area, Da Bac town).

According to Mr. Thinh, the two people mentioned above built roads that affected natural forests, illegally leveled 3,600 square meters of production forest land, and illegally built a temporary house of 80 square meters and a house with an iron frame and corrugated iron roof of 2,000 square meters.

After Lao Dong Newspaper reported, Vice Chairman of Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Toan requested to enforce the clearance of violations and restore the original land status.

At the same time, the People's Committee of Da Bac district considered handling the responsibility of the collective and individuals of the People's Committee of Dong Chum commune for allowing violations to occur and not resolutely handling the violations.

Next, the Da Bac District Party Committee's Inspection Commission stepped in and clarified the responsibilities of the Dong Chum Commune Party Committee and related individuals for allowing the above violations to occur.
