This afternoon (December 12), in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in the three years 2023-2025 (abbreviated as the Central Steering Committee) and the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense organized a general rehearsal of the program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu - Head of the Central Steering Committee and General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense chaired the rehearsal.
As planned, the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day will be solemnly organized by the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense at the National Convention Center (expected on December 20, 2024).

The highlight of the Celebration is the epic art program lasting more than 30 minutes, including special music and dance performances, summarizing the entire history of the birth, fighting and victory of the Army as well as affirming the great role of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Speaking after the rehearsal, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day are important events for the country and the Army.
Therefore, agencies and units are required to coordinate closely and promptly complete important tasks; make good preparations in all aspects, ensure absolute security and safety to successfully organize the Anniversary Ceremony, leaving a good impression on Party and State leaders, international guests and compatriots and soldiers nationwide.
Minister Phan Van Giang noted that the decoration work at the Anniversary Ceremony must ensure solemnity, properly reflecting the scale and stature of the event. The types of weapons and equipment displayed outdoors at the Anniversary Ceremony must be arranged and placed in reasonable positions, demonstrating the strength of the Army.
Regarding the epic art performance program at the Anniversary Ceremony, Minister Phan Van Giang requested the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army to urgently direct agencies and units to supplement, edit and complete the script, ensuring a tight and logical layout about the process of birth, fighting and victory of the Vietnam People's Army.
In particular, the performances and illustrations must demonstrate the growth and achievements of our Army in the resistance wars for national liberation, national reunification and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; at the same time, highlight the functions of the combat army, the working army, and the production labor army of the Vietnam People's Army.
