On the afternoon of May 13, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee announced the plan to merge the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong.
Accordingly, there are a total of more than 5,900 cadres and civil servants in the new administrative apparatus. It is expected that about 80% of cadres will be assigned to work in Da Lat City - which will become the provincial administrative center after the merger.
According to the allocation plan, 330 civil servants under the Office of the People's Committee, National Assembly Delegation and People's Council of the 3 merged provinces will work at existing offices in Lam Dong province.
The leader of Lam Dong Department of Finance said that about 3,253 people will be assigned to work mainly at Lam Dong Provincial Administrative Center, address 36 Tran Phu, Da Lat City. The other two reserve locations are the old headquarters of the Provincial Religious Committee and the People's Committee of Ward 3 (Da Lat City).
In addition, about 1,295 officials from public service units will work at the old headquarters of the People's Committee of Da Lat City, address 5 Tran Nhan Tong.
The leader of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also said that the province has assigned relevant departments and branches to study and propose a plan to arrange public housing or support housing for about 1,900 cadres, civil servants and public employees.
Lam Dong province has proposed that the Ministry of Home Affairs soon issue specific instructions on arranging the organizational structure and allocating human resources according to the urban government model, and at the same time piloting the establishment of a city under the province.
Up to now, Lam Dong province has streamlined a series of specialized agencies at the provincial and district levels, reducing nearly 1,000 positions in the 2021-2023 period, to ensure the goal of streamlining the apparatus in the spirit of the Central Resolution.
