The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that on the occasion of comrade Luong Cuong being elected by the 15th National Assembly to hold the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the leaders of China, Cambodia, Cuba, and Russia sent congratulatory telegrams, letters, and messages.
General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping affirmed that China attaches importance to developing China-Vietnam relations, supports Vietnam in advancing on the path of socialism in accordance with Vietnam's situation, and supports Vietnam in preparing well for the 14th National Party Congress.
Reviewing recent high-level contacts, including the visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam in August 2024 and the visit by Comrade Luong Cuong in October 2024, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping emphasized that the two sides need to work together to effectively implement the common perceptions of the senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries; expressed his willingness to work with President Luong Cuong to lead the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future in depth and practically, supporting the modernization process of the two countries, bringing more benefits to the people of the two countries.
Cambodian King Preah Karuna Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni and President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed that Comrade Luong Cuong's election as President by the Vietnamese National Assembly reflects the President's talented leadership, dedication and great achievements for the country and people of Vietnam; expressing their belief that under the leadership of President Luong Cuong, Vietnam will achieve great success, develop rapidly in all fields and maintain an important role in the region and the world.
The Cambodian leaders believe that the Cambodia-Vietnam relationship will become increasingly close and cohesive, continuing to contribute to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development; expressed their desire to cooperate closely with senior Vietnamese leaders to promote the highest interests of the two countries and peoples, as well as further contribute to peace, security and prosperity in and outside the region.
First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez expressed his belief that the leaders of the two countries will continue to deepen the excellent friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed that the bilateral relationship is developing in the spirit of a comprehensive strategic partnership; expressed his hope that President Luong Cuong will continue to promote effective bilateral cooperation in all areas to meet the fundamental interests of the people of the two countries as well as ensure security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
