On February 28, the People's Committee of Long An province organized the announcement of the decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the establishment of 5 new departments and personnel work.
Accordingly, Long An established 5 new specialized departments under the Provincial People's Committee, including: Department of Finance (merging the Department of Finance and Department of Planning and Investment); Department of Construction (merging the Department of Construction and Department of Transport); Department of Science and Technology (merging the Department of Information and Communications and Department of Science and Technology); Department of Agriculture and Environment (merging the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Department of Agriculture and Rural Development); Department of Home Affairs (merging the Department of Home Affairs and Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs).
Along with that, the Chairman of the Long An Provincial People's Committee presented the decision to appoint Mr. Truong Van Liep - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, to the position of Director of the Department of Finance. Appointed Mr. Vo Thanh Phong - Director of the Department of Home Affairs to continue to hold the position of Director of the Department of Home Affairs after the merger. Appointed Mr. Dang Hoang Tuan - Director of the Department of Transport, to hold the position of Director of the Department of Construction. Appointed Mr. Vo Minh Thanh - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, to hold the position of Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment. Appointed Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai - Director of the newly established Department of Science and Technology.
The Chairman of the Long An Provincial People's Committee also decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Pham Van Do - Director of the Department of Finance as Chief Inspector of the province; Mr. Huynh Cao Chanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Management Board of the Long An Economic Zone.
The Chairman of the Long An Provincial People's Committee decided to establish the Long An Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, appointing Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Director of the Department of Construction, to hold the position of Director of this board. Reappointed Ms. Phan Thi My Dung - Director of the Department of Justice; Mr. Pham Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Long An Economic Zone.
The Chairman of the Long An Provincial People's Committee also decided to allow Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Mai - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to retire early according to her wishes; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Truyen - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Nguyen Ba Luan - Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Mr. Le Son Ha - Chief Inspector of Long An province; Ms. Phan Thi Nguyet - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Ho Van Dan - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Mr. Tran Ky Duc - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs.
These decisions take effect from March 1, 2025.
