The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has just issued Resolution No. 1191/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Bac Giang province for the 2023-2025 period.
According to the resolution, the entire natural area of 191.74 km2 and population of 176,980 people of Yen Dung district will be merged into Bac Giang city. After the merger, Bac Giang city will have a natural area of 258.29 km2 and a population of 371,151 people.
Regarding the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Bac Giang city, the entire natural area of 0.87km2 and population of 11,950 people of Tran Nguyen Han ward will be merged into Ngo Quyen ward.
Merge the entire natural area of 0.91km2 and population of 11,285 people of Le Loi ward into Tran Phu ward.
Establish Tan An ward on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 4.60km2, population of 3,989 people of Lao Ho commune and the entire natural area of 9.22km2, population of 12,321 people of Tan An town.
Establish Dinh Tri ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 6.71km2 and population of 13,314 people of Dinh Tri commune.
Establish Tan Tien ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 7.94km2 and population of 12,528 people of Tan Tien commune.
Establish Tan My ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 7.37km2 and population of 15,281 people of Tan My commune.
Establish Song Mai ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 10.04km2 and population of 12,786 people of Song Mai commune.
Establish Dong Son ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 8.27km2 and population of 11,288 people of Dong Son commune.
Establish Song Khe ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 4.44km2 and population of 7,432 people of Song Khe commune.
Establish Nham Bien ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 21.98km2 and population of 19,111 people of Nham Bien town.
Establish Tan Lieu ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 9.07km2 and population of 7,017 people of Tan Lieu commune.
Establish Noi Hoang ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 7.64km2 and population of 9,831 people of Noi Hoang commune.

After the arrangement, Bac Giang city has 31 commune-level administrative units.
According to the resolution, a part of the natural area of 75.93 square kilometers of Son Dong district will be adjusted to merge into Luc Ngan district.
After the arrangement, Luc Ngan district has a natural area of 856.89 km2 and a population of 126,625 people; there are 19 commune-level administrative units. Son Dong district has a natural area of 784.63 km2 and a population of 89,311 people; there are 17 commune-level administrative units.
The resolution also details the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Hiep Hoa, Lang Giang, Luc Nam, Tan Yen and Yen The districts.
Resolution to dissolve Yen Dung District People's Court, Yen Dung District People's Procuracy, Bac Giang province; to establish Chu Town People's Court, Chu Town People's Procuracy, Bac Giang province.
The People's Court and People's Procuracy of Bac Giang City are responsible for inheriting the duties and powers of the People's Court and People's Procuracy of Yen Dung District, Bac Giang Province according to the provisions of law.
This Resolution comes into force from January 1, 2025.
