This is a special event in a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
Attending the program were Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda Nguyen Trong Nghia; Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi Bui Thi Minh Hoai.
Also attending were former Politburo member, former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi; Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh along with leaders of the Party, State, Hanoi City, historical witnesses and people from all walks of life.
The program combines music, lighting and modern 3D mapping technology; interspersed with reports and interviews with historical witnesses to recreate the heroic journey of 70 years of the Liberation of the Capital; emphasizing the theme of propaganda and celebration: "Hanoi - Capital of conscience and human dignity - Where the noble and typical values of the nation converge, crystallize and shine".
The Organizing Committee chose Thang Long Imperial Citadel to host the program, because this is a place of great significance to the thousand-year-old historical capital, where the first Flag-Salute Ceremony of the Liberated Capital took place at 3:00 p.m. on October 10, 1954.
With the main background being the image of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, important historical milestones have been recreated surreally from hearing to sight, creating special visual effects, diverse contexts from Hanoi streets during the fierce fighting years, to the vast mountainous forest war zone, or the image of the Capital with brilliant flags and flowers on the day of the triumphal song.
"Hanoi - Epic of the City" with music and stories will remind us of the heroic and glorious historical days of the Capital and the continuation of today's generation in the work of preserving peace, creating and promoting the culture of Hanoi, so that Hanoi is worthy of being a City for Peace, a Creative City, the Capital of Vietnam, which is reaching out to enter a new era.
The event has 3 chapters, including: Battlefield in the city; 9 years of the heart of the capital; Song of Hanoi, the program "Hanoi - Epic of the city" tells historical stories about Hanoi, meets historical witnesses of 70 years ago and more distantly, of nearly 80 years before the start of the national resistance war.
The authentic reports quoted in the program were meticulously produced, providing realistic and objective perspectives on the heroic and heroic resistance of the entire nation. Many segments made viewers feel emotional and sorrowful for a period of bombs and bullets.
Regarding the meaning of the name "Hanoi - Epic of the City", the Organizing Committee said that every street and every house here are historical witnesses, silently and steadfastly following many events, from the fierce devastation of war to the glorious day of victory.
The highlight of the program is the performance of many famous singers and artists such as People's Artist Tan Minh, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Hong Nhung, Tung Duong, Trong Tan, Vu Thang Loi... with songs that have gone through the years, famous songs about Hanoi.
