"I deeply mourn General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a person devoted to the people and the country. Even though I am old and weak, this morning, I still tried to arrive early" - Ms. Oanh said.
As a military doctor and revolutionary soldier, Ms. Oanh spent 38 years serving and fighting in the Resistance War against the French, the Resistance Against the Americans and the fight to protect the Northern border of the Fatherland (Vietnamese battlefield). Recalling the years of resistance, in addition to her main professional work, Ms. Oanh and her teammates cleared fields, farmed fields, dug tunnels, built shacks, carried rice, carried stretchers of wounded soldiers, loaded ammunition... all over the battlefields.
Ms. Oanh said, in 1954, during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, female military doctors were present in the fiercest places of war, from Ba Khe, Lung Lo, Co Noi, to Pha Din Pass... In Dien Bien Government, bombers, dangerous forest roads; There were days when she had to carry, piggyback, and carry wounded soldiers back to the rear lines and take them to Institute 9 in Yen Bai province; Continue to work with teammates to treat officers and soldiers.
In the midst of the difficult and fierce period of the US Local War Strategy in Vietnam in 1965, Ms. Oanh and her teammates again crossed the Truong Son Mountains, walked through forests, waded streams into the Central Highlands; At one point, he operated behind enemy lines in the Indochina crossroads (Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam).
Many times, Ms. Oanh had to cross the Se Kong River (an important tributary of the Mekong River) to treat people. "I don't understand why at that time I wasn't afraid of death, didn't think about death; wasn't afraid of bombs, my spirit was determined to liberate the South and unify the country" - Ms. Oanh said.
On the morning of July 26, after visiting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Ms. Oanh sat and rested at the gate of the National Funeral House. On the face of the female battlefield doctor, sadness could not be hidden. However, she also felt satisfied when today she was able to visit and say goodbye to the head of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Ms. Vuong Thi Kim Thu (born in 1985, residing in Lang Ha) is one of thousands of people who came to pay their respects to the General Secretary early in the morning.
