On the morning of July 31, the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province held the 17th session (thematic session), term XVII of the Provincial People's Council to consider and decide on personnel work under the authority of the Provincial People's Council.
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council delegates conducted a secret vote to elect Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee for Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee .
With a vote of approval reaching 100% of the Provincial People's Council delegates present, Mr. Tran Duy Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee term XVII, term 2021-2026.

Mr. Tran Duy Dong started working at the Ministry of Planning and Investment in 2002 as an expert, Department of Industrial Park Management - Export Processing Zones (now the Department of Economic Zones Management).
In 2014, Mr. Tran Duy Dong was appointed Director of the Department of Economic Zones Management; In November 2018, he was appointed Director of the Department of Local and Territorial Economy.
On October 2, 2020, the Prime Minister signed a decision to appoint Mr. Tran Duy Dong to the position of Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.
On July 22, 2024, the Secretariat decided to mobilize and appoint Mr. Tran Duy Dong to join the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Provincial Party Standing Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
