95 years ago, under the chairmanship of the Party, the Alliance of the Imperators Association was established on November 18, 1930 and became the first organization of the Vietnam National United Front. Throughout the process of national liberation struggle and national construction, with many different names and forms, the United National Front always fulfills the mission of gathering and uniting all classes of the Vietnamese people. Regardless of the period, the core principle of the Front is still national unity for the common goal: national independence and prosperity and happiness of the people.
President Ho Chi Minh has received the quintessence of the nation and the world in Great Unity, initiated and trained the great national unity bloc when we have the People's government. His ideology has been inherited and developed by our Party in every historical period. The Party always identifies great national unity as a strategic line, an extremely precious tradition, the origin of the strength of the nation, of the revolution, and the decisive factor for all victories in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country. Solidarity, unity, Great unity - Success, success, Great success has become a reality, a reality of our daily life.
During the arduous resistance wars, it was the strength of national solidarity that brought together great victories. From the August Revolution of 1945 to the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954, from the Great Spring Victory of 1975 to the Doi Moi campaign, each historical turning point left a strong impression of the unity and solidarity of the entire nation under the leadership of the Party. Thanks to promoting the spirit of "Great National Unity", millions of Vietnamese people of different classes, religions and ethnic groups have gathered under the Party's flag, fighting for independence, freedom and national reunification.
Today, the great lesson of national unity still retains its current value. Looking at the world, we are increasingly appreciating the value of a nation "on top and bottom of one heart", "general of one heart/allowing the river to drink a cup of sweet wine", "all love for the same pumpkin/even though they are different but all share the same platform"... living in harmony and peace in the land of the Dragon - the Tien while many countries are facing social division, ethnic and religious conflicts and prolonged political instability. War, violence and factional conflicts have occurred in many places, even in some places, causing people to be dispersed and fall into extreme poverty. The global geopolitical picture is forecast to continue to be unstable and unpredictable. In that context, Vietnam has emerged as a bright spot with a stable political and social environment, the people are united and unanimous towards the common goal of building and developing the country.
A recent typical example of the spirit of solidarity and democracy in our society is the political activity of giving comments on draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress. For the first time, the collection of public opinions into Party Congress documents has been widely deployed, applying digital technology so that all people at home and abroad can easily participate. Through the VNeID application on smartphones and online information portals, millions of people have sent their enthusiastic contributions to the Party. To date, nearly 3 million comments have been submitted via many different forms (of which more than 2 million comments were via the VNeID platform...). This is the largest number of contributions to the Party Congresses ever, clearly demonstrating the democratic spirit, consensus and political responsibility of our people towards the country's important decisions. The voice of the people - starting from the practical basis of life - will be a valuable contribution, helping our Party complete the guidelines, properly reflecting the will and aspirations of the people in the documents of the upcoming 14th National Congress of the Party.
Another typical example is that from the beginning of 2025 to now, many provinces and cities across the country, especially the Northern and Central Highlands regions, have suffered from continuous natural disasters and floods that have caused particularly serious damage to people and property. In that situation, under the close direction of the Party and the State, forces such as the army, police, medical staff, and militia quickly took action to rescue people, organize emergency evacuation, and support the reconstruction of life after the flood. At the same time, the people of the whole country also join hands and strongly promote the tradition of "mutual love", "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves", "love others as you love yourself". From agencies, unions, businesses to spontaneous volunteer groups and volunteer youth teams, resources are mobilized and donated to share and support people in flooded areas to overcome difficulties.
Not only solidarity at the national level, Vietnamese people at home and abroad are also increasingly close. Our overseas Vietnamese in many countries always turn to the Fatherland, contributing both their intelligence and talent to their homeland in many different ways. The "For the Sea and Islands of Vietnam" donations, programs connecting overseas Vietnamese businessmen to invest in the country, or free Vietnamese language classes organized by overseas Vietnamese communities... all come from the heart that always turns to the roots, from the spirit of great solidarity of Lac Hong's children no matter where they are. It can be affirmed that our great national unity, including our compatriots at home and more than 5 million overseas Vietnamese, has never been so strongly consolidated as it is today. This is a great source of endogenous strength, a fulcrum for the country to overcome all challenges, firmly moving forward on the path of innovation and integration.
In the coming time, to continue to strengthen the great national unity bloc, it is necessary to first strengthen solidarity within the Party and the great national unity bloc under the leadership of the Party. More than ever, it is necessary to give top priority to consolidating and promoting the strength of great solidarity, considering it a key factor to bring the country into a new era of development. This requires each cadre and party member to truly set an example, " Say what you do", put the interests of the nation - people and the people first and foremost; resolutely fight to defeat all plots, methods and tricks of operation of hostile forces in order to divide our solidarity bloc.
At the same time, it is necessary to constantly improve the material and spiritual life and protect the legitimate rights of the people. This is both a goal and a driving force to strengthen the great solidarity bloc. The Party identifies the people as the center; takes the happiness and prosperity of the people as the goal to strive for. Special care should be given to people in vulnerable areas and disadvantaged areas: ethnic minorities, people in remote areas, border areas, islands, areas based on the old revolution, areas frequently affected by natural disasters, etc. Continue to effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction programs and social security policies, leaving no one behind. When the people are rich, the country is strong, democratic, fair, civilized, when all people enjoy the fruits of equitable development, the great unity bloc will be stronger, no force can provoke division.
Along with that, it is necessary to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations, focusing on the grassroots and taking the people as the center of service. The Front needs to better play its core role in gathering and uniting all social classes, outstanding individuals... all together towards the common goal of a strong and prosperous Vietnam. The Fatherland Front must become a widely-populated forum for all classes of people, ethnic groups, religions, overseas Vietnamese... to meet, exchange, and express their opinions and aspirations in a democratic and open manner. At the same time, it is necessary to focus on promoting the role of intellectuals, intellectuals, experts, prestigious people in society and the overseas Vietnamese community in giving advice on national construction.
On the other hand, great solidarity is not only limited to the national scale but needs to be expanded to the international level. Thereby, Vietnam has gained the support of international friends, creating a favorable environment for the cause of national construction and defense; at the same time, strengthening solidarity between the people of Vietnam and the people of other countries, especially with the forces that love peace and progress in the world. A stable, harmonious and humane Vietnam will certainly make important contributions to the peace, cooperation and common development of humanity.
The 95-year history of building and promoting the strength of great national unity is a glorious journey, leaving many profound lessons. Thanks to solidarity, our nation has done seemingly impossible things, from victory in the great national liberation wars, firmly protecting independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity to rising out of poverty and backwardness. Today, with opportunities and challenges intertwined, we must strengthen the great unity bloc like protecting the children of our eyes. Every Vietnamese person, regardless of region, ethnicity, religion or occupation, shares the same determination: unite for the prosperous future of the country. That is the origin of the will, faith and strength to realize the goal of building a strong, prosperous Vietnam, a happy people. Vietnam, as a heroic nation, a united, diligent and creative people, will certainly create new development miracles, have a worthy position, and stand shoulder to shoulder with friends across the world.
