On October 2, the Office of the Government announced that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1068/QD-TTg approving the election results for the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Ho Van Mung, Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
The decision takes effect from October 1, 2024.
Mr. Ho Van Mung was born in 1977, in Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province. Mr. Ho Van Mung has a high level of political theory; professional qualifications include a Master of Economic Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Languages.
Before 2013, Mr. Ho Van Mung was a member of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union. From August 2013 to September 2015, he was a member of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Van Ninh District Party Committee.
September 2015 - October 2015, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Van Ninh District Party Committee. From November 2015 - August 2021, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of Propaganda of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.
On January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, Mr. Ho Van Mung was elected as an alternate member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
From August 2021 to August 2024, he was an alternate member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Nha Trang City Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
On August 30, 2024, the Politburo issued a decision on Mr. Ho Van Mung ceasing to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and ceasing to hold the position of Secretary of the Nha Trang City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; transferring, assigning, and appointing him to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On September 12, 2024, the People's Council of An Giang province, term X (2021-2026), elected Mr. Ho Van Mung - Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, term 2021-2026.
