On July 20, Comrade Nguyen Duc Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and the Central working delegation offered incense and flowers at Dong Khe Martyrs' Cemetery (Thach An District, Cao Bang Province), the resting place of more than 400 martyrs, including over 200 martyrs who died in the Border Campaign in 1950.
Participating in the delegation were comrade Lam Van Man - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; on the local side were comrade Be Thanh Tinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors of Cao Bang province.
At the Dong Khe Martyrs' Cemetery - part of the special national monument of the Border Victory in 1950, the working delegation observed a minute of silence, expressing their deep gratitude for the sacrifices of the heroic martyrs for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Next, the delegation came to offer incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Memorial House for the Victory of the Border Campaign of 1950 in Na Lan, Duc Long commune. Here, the delegation expressed their respect for the great contributions of Uncle Ho - who devoted his life to the cause of the Vietnamese revolution.
During the working trip, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also visited and presented gifts to the family of Mr. Nong Van Su ( slang Pec hamlet, Dong Khe commune) - a former resistance fighter, infected with toxic chemicals and the family of the wounded soldier Nong Quoc Doan.

He acknowledged and appreciated the contributions and sacrifices of policy families, and at the same time hoped that families would continue to preserve the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, being exemplary in implementing the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, actively building cultural life and developing the local economy.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony for policy families in Dong Khe commune, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai affirmed that the Party and State always consider the work of "grateful and rewarding merits" as an important task.
In the period of 2021-2025, the state budget has spent hundreds of thousands of billions of VND to support meritorious people through subsidies, housing, health care, and vocational education policies.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that local levels and sectors continue to step up verification, simplify procedures, and apply digital transformation in managing meritorious people's records.
At the same time, focus on collecting and examining DNA to identify the remains of martyrs with missing information, aiming to basically complete this work by 2030.
Along with that, it is necessary to mobilize social resources, spread the spirit of gratitude to the community, especially educate the younger generation about the heroic history of the nation.
On this occasion, the working group presented 50 gifts to policy beneficiaries, meritorious people and poor households in Dong Khe commune.
