Attending the program were Mr. Bui Thanh Son - Deputy Prime Minister, Ms. Bui Thi Hoa - President of Vietnam Red Cross Society; Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
On the side of Vinh Phuc province, there were Mr. Dang Xuan Phong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Bui Huy Vinh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Duy Dong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong emphasized that in addition to focusing on economic development, in recent years, Vinh Phuc has always paid attention to ensuring social security and improving people's income and life.
In 2024, Vinh Phuc province spent 101 billion VND from the state budget on social security work; built 179 Great Solidarity houses with a total cost of 11.8 billion VND; Red Cross Associations at all levels in the province mobilized support of more than 61 billion VND for humanitarian activities.
Thereby, contributing to reducing the poverty rate in the province to 0.43%, down 0.1% compared to early 2024.
Responding to the 2025 Charity Tet movement launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee has directed Party committees and authorities to focus on organizing the 2025 Charity Tet program.
Thereby, arousing the strength of great solidarity, promoting the good moral tradition of "Love others as you love yourself" of all classes of people, business community, and philanthropists.
Speaking at the program, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son praised Vinh Phuc province's efforts in taking care of policy beneficiaries, meritorious people, poor households and workers.
Mr. Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated the practical activities carried out to bring a warm and complete traditional Tet to disadvantaged families.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that in 2024, despite many difficulties, Vietnam overcame challenges and achieved a growth rate of over 7%, in which Vinh Phuc played an important role in the overall development of the country.
At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son believes that in 2025, Vinh Phuc province in particular and the whole country in general will continue to accelerate and make breakthroughs to complete the goals of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, thereby creating a solid momentum to enter a new era.
On this occasion, 520 gifts were given to families, workers in difficult circumstances, orphans and victims of Agent Orange.
Of which, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son presented 40 gifts to poor households and workers in difficult circumstances, each worth 1.3 million VND.
