Accelerating many bidding packages at Long Thanh airport project and connecting transportation
On September 7, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and the Government working delegation had a working session with the Ministry of Construction, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) and related units on the progress of the Long Thanh airport project and connecting routes.

According to VEC's report, the unit is accelerating the implementation of expressway projects connecting Long Thanh airport. In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway has started expanding the section from Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh; the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway has also opened many sections, currently under construction of two bridges and the National Highway 51 intersection.
ACV also said that it is coordinating with contractors to accelerate many bidding packages simultaneously, determined to complete them synchronously so that Long Thanh airport phase 1 can operate as planned, on December 19, 2025, the aircraft can take off from Noi Bai airport, then land on the first runway and roll into the parking lot of Long Thanh airport terminal.
For package 6.12, the construction of the traffic route connecting Long Thanh airport has been technically opened to traffic on route 1 and 2, and the signs and road markings are being completed.

Maintaining the progress road committed to the Prime Minister
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha stated that the progress of Long Thanh airport not only depends on the internal items, but is also linked to the connecting transportation system. Therefore, the Ministry of Construction, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province and relevant agencies must speed up the progress of infrastructure projects, including Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, the expanded Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway, and connecting routes implemented by VEC and the Ministry of Construction. All of these projects have been committed to be completed by the Prime Minister and localities before Long Thanh airport is put into operation.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that by the deadline of December 19, the main items must be basically completed synchronously, focusing on key projects so that aircraft can access all levels of the terminal, ensuring absolute quality of the project.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested ACV to synchronously prepare human resources, ensuring international standards for a 5-star airport. At the same time, Dong Nai province and related units must soon form a diverse, high-quality service ecosystem to serve passengers coming and going from the airport.
For contractors, there should be attention, encouragement, as well as research to build a worthy reward mechanism for units, engineers and workers, and at the same time, there should be bonuses for units that ensure progress and quality, thereby encouraging working spirit, creating strong motivation for the entire project to finish on time.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested units to maintain the progress roadmap committed to the Prime Minister.
Previously, on the afternoon of August 2, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Central working delegation inspected the construction site of the Long Thanh airport project. With the goal of determination to basically complete the project by December 19, 2025, inaugurate it according to regulations, and move towards commercial exploitation in early 2026, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, investors, contractors, consulting units, engineers, workers, and laborers who have tried and tried to do more, who have tried and tried more, who have been determined and determined to do more, focus on fully and seriously implementing the conclusions and instructions of the Prime Minister, and completing the work.
