To quickly overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, Quang Ninh province mobilized the entire political system, armed forces and the entire population to focus on overcoming the consequences caused by the storm. In particular, after only 7 days, the cleanup and temporary repair of damaged structures and broken and fallen trees were basically completed. After 5 days, essential services were basically restored.
Quang Ninh province also directed to immediately restore production in key economic sectors of the province such as: coal industry, industrial parks, economic zones, tourism, trade and services. At the same time, thoroughly restructure spending tasks, save regular spending, cut unnecessary and urgent spending to reserve about 1,000 billion VND to overcome damage, stabilize life and restore production and business activities after storm No. 3.
Regarding the socio-economic development situation in the first 9 months of 2024, the economic growth rate (GRDP) reached 8.02%. The processing and manufacturing industry continues to be the main growth driver, estimated to increase by 20.45%, 4.05 percentage points higher than the same period. The total number of tourists to Quang Ninh is estimated at over 15.6 million, up 20% over the same period; of which, international visitors are estimated at 2.59 million. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 36,856 billion VND, up 39% over the same period. Total state budget revenue in the province by September 30, 2024 reached nearly 40,500 billion VND, equal to 73% of the estimate. The disbursement rate reached 32.2% of the capital plan assigned at the beginning of the year.
Regarding the results of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, in 2023, Quang Ninh province completed the elimination of 100% of newly-emerged temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. The province continues to strive to completely eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, people affected by natural disasters by 2025 and support families of meritorious people facing difficulties in housing, and dilapidated houses that need to be repaired and rebuilt in the province.
Regarding the implementation of Decision 338/QD-TTg approving the Project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021 - 2030", the province has developed an implementation roadmap. It is expected that by 2025, 8,200 apartments will be completed and the target assigned by the Government will be met.
