On the morning of May 7, in Hai Phong, the Navy held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its founding (May 7,55 - May 7, 2025) and received the Ho Chi Minh Medal. Politburo member and President Luong Cuong attended and gave a speech.
Attending the ceremony were: Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the Navy Army, President Luong Cuong warmly congratulated and praised the achievements and great contributions of the Vietnamese People's Navy in the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation in the past 70 years.
According to the Vietnam News Agency, President Luong Cuong emphasized that, in the cause of renovation, construction and defense of the Fatherland, the Navy has focused on building a strong political army, serving as a basis to improve the combined quality and fighting strength. At the same time, organizing the construction of regular, elite and modern army, truly a core force, always successfully completing the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands, the sacred continental shelf of the country and the special tasks assigned.
In order to well perform the assigned functions and tasks, the President emphasized that the Vietnamese People's Navy officers and soldiers must constantly promote the good tradition of the nation and the Vietnamese People's Army and the glorious tradition of the Army, enhance solidarity, initiative, flexibility, efforts to strive, take advantage of opportunities, opportunities, overcome difficulties, challenges and determination.
The President noted the need to focus on building strong and comprehensive agencies and units in all aspects. In particular, special attention is paid to improving the quality of political and ideological education in the entire Army. Building officers and soldiers with steadfast and steadfast political will, firmly grasping the tasks, partners, subjects, plots and tricks of hostile forces; united, unified to overcome all difficulties and challenges, striving to excellently complete assigned tasks.
The President pointed out that one of the other important tasks of the Navy is to continue focusing on building a lean, compact, strong, revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern Army; strictly and effectively combining national defense - security - foreign affairs - economy; proactively, research, advise, propose solutions for marine economic development; effectively implement economic - defense projects and programs at sea.
The President emphasized that the Navy must always be the core force, a solid support for fishermen to go offshore, stick to the sea, build a national defense posture, and a "people's heart posture" at sea; do a good job of international cooperation and law enforcement at sea; promptly resolve arising issues, firmly protect sovereignty, sovereign rights, judgments and national interests at sea.
Excited and proud of the victories and achievements of the Navy Army has been achieved in the past 70 years, the President believes that all the Navy cadres and soldiers will be more deeply aware of the position, role and responsibility of glory on the new journey, continue to maintain and promote the tradition of "Heroic fighting; Conspiracy, creativity; to master the waters, to win the whole team, to win the whole team, to win the whole team" The whole army brought our country to confidently enter the new era, the era of strong and prosperous development of the Vietnamese people.
