Implementing the policy of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, in the coming time, Tay Ninh province and Long An province will be merged and named Tay Ninh province.
The merger of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces is a central policy, after the rearrangement of new administrative units, Tay Ninh has 96 commune-level units and 19 border communes.

It is expected that after rearranging the ADUs, the new Tay Ninh province will establish 4 regional defense commanders (under the old Tay Ninh province: 2 Committees and the old Long An province: 2 Committees); transfer the Border Guard Command of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces to the Border Guard Command under the Military Command of Tay Ninh province.
Meanwhile, Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces are expected to be merged, named Dong Nai province.

According to the plan, after rearranging administrative units, the new Dong Nai province plans to establish 4 regional defense command committees (2 committees in Dong Nai, 2 committees in Binh Phuoc); transfer the Border Guard of Binh Phuoc province to the Border Guard Command under the Military Command of Dong Nai province.
At the survey of the planned location of the regional defense commanders in Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc - Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 7 - emphasized: The merger is a major policy of the Party and State, an urgent requirement in the current period.
