This morning (February 5), in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to announce the Decision to merge the General Department of Logistics and the General Department of Engineering and reorganize them into the General Department of Logistics and Engineering.
General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - chaired the ceremony. Also attending the ceremony was Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
At the ceremony, the organizing committee announced the Decision of the Minister of National Defense on merging the General Department of Logistics and the General Department of Engineering and reorganizing them into the General Department of Logistics and Engineering; announced the decision to award the Quyet Thang Military Flag to the General Department of Logistics and Engineering.
Presenting the Quyet Thang Military Flag and delivering a speech assigning tasks to the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, General Phan Van Giang stated: Implementing Resolution No. 05-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 230-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on adjusting the organization and staffing of the Army for the period 2025 - 2030 and the following years, the Ministry of National Defense decided to merge the General Department of Logistics and the General Department of Engineering and reorganize them into the General Department of Logistics and Engineering.
This is a very important event, demonstrating new thinking and vision in adjusting the force organization of the Logistics and Engineering sector during 80 years of building, fighting and growing of the Army, increasingly better meeting the requirements of the cause of building, consolidating national defense and protecting the Fatherland.
Faced with the increasingly high demands of the task of building and defending the Fatherland, in order to successfully fulfill the assigned functions and tasks, Minister Phan Van Giang requested the General Department of Logistics and Engineering to deeply, fully and correctly perceive the position and significance of the merger and reorganization of the two general departments, the functions, requirements and tasks, thereby determining the determination, making strong breakthroughs, overcoming difficulties, and successfully completing political tasks.
Continue to do a good job of strategic consulting with the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on logistics and technical support for the entire army, build strong and comprehensive agencies and units that are "exemplary and typical", maintain and promote the achievements of the Logistics - Technical sector in recent times.
Minister Phan Van Giang requested the General Department of Logistics and Engineering to quickly stabilize the organization and staffing, assign and assign specific tasks; perfect the Party organization, command organization, and mass organizations, deploy activities in accordance with their functions and tasks; build strong organizations, and excellently complete all assigned tasks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc - Director of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering - expressed his gratitude for the attention, leadership, and timely and close direction of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense; and the effective coordination of agencies and units throughout the army so that the General Department of Logistics and the former General Department of Engineering could successfully and excellently complete their assigned tasks.
At the same time, express determination to promote achievements in construction, combat and growth over the past years, maintain and enhance the glorious tradition of the two previous general departments; unite and strive to build the General Department of Logistics and Engineering worthy of being a strategic advisory agency of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, meeting the requirements and tasks of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
