According to the Government Electronic Information Portal on October 15, Military Region 5 recently held a conference to announce the decision of the Minister of National Defence, assigning the task of merging and reorganizing the Logistics Department and the Technical Department into the Military Region Logistics - Technical Department.
Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee and Commander of the Military Region chaired the conference.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 230 dated April 2, 2022 of the Central Military Commission; Plan No. 1228 dated April 25, 2022 of the Ministry of National Defence on the organization of the Vietnam People's Army for the period 2021 - 2030 and the following years, on September 23, 2024, the Minister of National Defence issued Decision No. 4354 on the merger and reorganization of the Logistics Department and the Technical Department into the Logistics - Technical Department of Military Region 5.
Speaking at the conference, the leader of Military Region 5 requested that Party committees and commanders at all levels must fully and correctly understand the position and significance of the merger and reorganization of the Logistics and Engineering Department.
At the same time, thoroughly grasp and orient the ideology for all cadres, soldiers and employees to grasp the policy of building the Army in the direction of "refined, compact, strong", advancing towards modernization; deeply understand the functions, requirements and tasks in the immediate and long term, clearly determine the determination, overcome difficulties, successfully complete political tasks, build a comprehensively strong unit "Exemplary, typical" right from the first day, first week, first month of merger.
Request the Party Committee and Head of the Logistics and Technical Department to urgently review, discuss, unify, assign and divide tasks in leadership and command; direct the development and promulgation of regulations and rules on each aspect of work.
Focus on building Party committees and organizations with high leadership capacity and fighting spirit; upholding the principles of Party leadership and activities; innovating leadership methods and working styles of Party committees, commanders, and leading cadres at all levels.
Quickly stabilize the organization and staff; build a contingent of cadres and party members with pure political qualities and ethics, who dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, match words with actions, and work effectively; supplement and perfect the system of combat documents and training at all levels; strictly maintain daily and weekly routines and regimes.
Perform well the advisory function for the Standing Committee of the Party Committee - Military Region Command to deploy and ensure logistics and technical work for the armed forces of the Military Region.
