In the agenda of the 15th session of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Council, the initial draft included the election of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. However, at the last minute, the agenda was changed and did not include the election of the Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee. The 15th session, a thematic session on the afternoon of October 9, ended without the election of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Thus, after nearly 3 months, from the day Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province - was transferred to be Deputy Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee (July 12) until October 9, Ca Mau province still lacked a Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Also at this session, Mr. Duong Huynh Khai - Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ca Mau province - retired to receive social insurance benefits from November 1, 2024.
The 15th session of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Council also considered and decided on a number of important contents under its authority, including many draft resolutions in the fields of law, economy and budget.
Notably, the People's Council of Ca Mau province has not yet approved the Resolution on the policy of establishing Tac Van ward under Ca Mau city based on the current status of natural area of 5.59km2 and population of 14,180 people of Tac Van commune.
Previously, on September 12, the Politburo assigned Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien to be Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee. Thus, this province has 2 Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien and Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai.
