Speaking at the conference, Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Minister of Home Affairs emphasized that the conference took place in the context of the increasingly developing comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
The Party and State of Vietnam are steadfast and consistent in considering relations with Laos as a top priority in their foreign policy. This relationship aims to continuously strengthen and develop the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.
Minister of Home Affairs Do Thanh Binh said that implementing the general direction of the leaders of the two Parties and the State, cooperation between the former Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam (now the Ministry of Home Affairs) and the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Laos has always been focused on, continuously developing in both breadth and depth.
Over the past 60 years (since 1963), cooperation between the two Ministries has been strongly promoted, supported on both bilateral and multilateral levels, and contributed to the ASEAN framework and the Mekong sub-region.
Minister Do Thanh Binh believes that this 9th conference will help the two Ministries look back on the cooperation journey they have gone through and mark a deeper, stronger relationship in the coming time.
In particular, with Vietnam having just carried out an innovation revolution, arranging the organization of the state management apparatus to be streamlined, strong, effective and efficient. This new mechanism will create more favorable conditions to synchronize training activities for cadres and share experiences in public service management. Thereby, enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation and mutual support between the two Ministries.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phosay Sayasone, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare of Laos, expressed his pleasure at attending the conference in Ninh Binh. Mr. Phosay Sayasone assessed Ninh Binh as a province with beautiful natural landscapes, many historical and cultural relics, rapid socio-economic development, and people's lives are constantly improving, contributing to enhancing the leadership role of the Party and Government of Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh province in particular.
Lao Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Phosay Sayasone affirmed that this conference is of great significance, organized in the context that the two Parties and two Governments are focusing on preparing for the Party Congress and summarizing the implementation of the 5-year socio-economic development plan.
At the same time, implement cooperation agreements on labor, social welfare and the Minutes of the 8th Ministers' Conference in 2023. Although the implementation may not be diverse, the two Ministries have made efforts to closely coordinate, exchange information, and support each other at the regional and international levels. Thereby, contributing to strengthening and deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
At the conference, delegates exchanged and shared experiences and policies on labor, employment, meritorious people and digital transformation of the two countries. Evaluate the cooperation results for the period 2024 - 2025 and the cooperation plan for 2026 - 2027. At the same time, discuss practical solutions to promote more effective cooperation between the two Ministries in the field of labor, employment and meritorious people in the period of 2025 - 2027.
At the conference, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of labor and meritorious people between the two Ministries and the Minutes of the 9th Vietnam - Laos Ministers' Conference took place.
