According to the Government Newspaper, on March 18, at the Government headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman, General Director of the Trump Organization Group's project in Vietnam.
The high-end urban, eco-tourism, sports and golf course complex project in Hung Yen province, providing services according to the highest standards of the Trump Organization, with a total estimated investment of about 1.5 billion USD, proposed by the investor is a joint venture of Hung Yen Investment and Development Group Joint Stock Company and IDG Capital (representative of Trump Organization).
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that since Vietnam and the US became Comprehensive Strategic Partners in September 2023, bilateral economic and trade relations will continue to develop sustainably. However, US investment in Vietnam still has a lot of room to continue to grow. The Prime Minister expects US investors to continue to increase new investment and expand investment in Vietnam.
Appreciating the business side's interest in investing in the project in Hung Yen province, the Prime Minister said that Vietnamese agencies will consider comprehensively to promote the project as soon as possible, in accordance with relevant legal regulations, ensuring the interests of relevant parties.
Vietnam is also promoting administrative procedure reform, making decisions faster, with the spirit of valuing time, promoting intelligence and decisiveness, bringing specific and qualitative products, results and benefits.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Trump Organization consider Vietnam as a business base, research, and expand investment and business activities to other localities of Vietnam, potential areas that businesses have strengths and Vietnam is interested in and prioritizing; strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese businesses, support Vietnamese businesses to participate in the group's ecosystem and supply chain globally.
The Prime Minister also asked businesses to have a voice to contribute to promoting high-level visits between the two countries; the US has policies in line with bilateral relations, the situation of Vietnam and the world context, continuing to take steps towards recognizing Vietnam as having a market economy and creating conditions for Vietnam to import high-tech equipment from the US.
For his part, Mr. Charles James Boyd bowman thanked the support and close cooperation of ministries and Hung Yen province, saying that he is cooperating closely with agencies with the desire to speed up the project as soon as possible; hoping to complete the project in the next 2 years (March 2027) to serve the APEC 2027 occasion, becoming the leading golf course in Vietnam and a famous golf destination globally.
He also said that businesses are studying investment in other projects and fields in Vietnam; promoting visits by Trump Group's leadership to Vietnam and contributing to promoting bilateral relations, building a high-quality image of Vietnam with the world and the US government.
