Rear Admiral Hong Sang Yong leads the delegation during this friendly visit. The visit took place within the framework of defense diplomacy activities, contributing to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
The ship welcoming ceremony was held at Tien Sa Port with the participation of representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Naval Region 3 Command, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, the City Military Command, the City Border Guard, the External Affairs Department of the Military Region 5 Command, the Department of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of National Defense) and the Navy. This is an activity demonstrating the importance of defense cooperation and friendly exchange between forces.
Representatives of the Korean side include Lieutenant Colonel Park Jeong Hwan, Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam; staff of the Korean Embassy in Hanoi; representatives of the Korean Consulate General in Da Nang and the Korean community in the locality. The large presence of all parties shows the significance of the visit in tightening bilateral cooperation.
The visit of the ROKS Hansando ship contributes to strengthening friendship, enhancing mutual trust and in line with the orientation of promoting the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This activity also helps expand exchanges between the navels of the two countries, creating opportunities to learn and share experiences.
During the time of staying in Da Nang, the ship commander will hand over the leaders of the City People's Committee, Military Region 5 and Naval Region 3. The delegation plans to organize sports exchanges with officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Navy; visit a number of cultural and tourist attractions in the locality; and invite Vietnamese visitors and the Korean community to visit the ship.
The group also participated in community activities including cultural exchanges, Taekwondo performances and giving gifts to children in Hope Village, Da Nang City. This is a humane highlight, contributing to the solidarity between the people of the two countries.
The ROKS Hansando train departure ceremony will be held at Tien Sa Port at the end of the tour program.
