Thailand shows determination to deepen relations with Vietnam

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said that the Thai delegation this time includes 3 Deputy Prime Ministers, 6 Ministers, Commanders of army and military branches and secretaries of ministries and branches.

On June 9, in Hanoi, General Secretary and President To Lam received Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul who is on an official visit to Vietnam and attending the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum.

The General Secretary and President expressed his pleasure to meet Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul again after his official visit to Thailand at the end of May; thanked the Royal Family, Government and People of Thailand, as well as the Prime Minister and his wife for their respectful, thoughtful and friendly reception to the General Secretary, President, his wife and the high-level Vietnamese delegation.

The Thai Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at the first official visit to Vietnam; thanked the leaders and people of Vietnam for the solemn and warm reception given to the delegation.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul conveyed the greetings of the King and Queen of Thailand to the General Secretary, President and his wife; emphasizing that the official visit to Thailand by the General Secretary and President was a resounding success, creating a very good impression in the hearts of the Thai people, opening up many new directions for cooperation and creating strong momentum to bring the relations between the two countries into a new stage of development.

At the reception, the Thai Prime Minister informed General Secretary and President To Lam about the very successful results of the talks with Politburo member and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. The two sides proposed specific measures to implement the agreements between the senior leaders of the two countries, especially the results of General Secretary and President To Lam's official visit to Thailand recently.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul affirmed that Thailand always considers Vietnam a close neighbor and reliable partner. The Prime Minister said that the Royal Thai Government delegation this time includes 3 Deputy Prime Ministers, 6 Ministers, Commanders of military branches and secretaries of ministries and sectors, showing their respect and desire to continue to consolidate and develop good relations with Vietnam in all fields, becoming stronger and more substantive.

Exchanging views on the direction of cooperation in the coming time, General Secretary and President To Lam proposed that the two countries continue to strengthen political trust, expand economic cooperation, defense - security and people-to-people exchanges through strengthening delegation exchanges, high-level contacts and levels; expand cooperation on all channels; maintain the effectiveness of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially the mechanism for the Joint Cabinet Meeting.

General Secretary and President affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always values and wishes to strengthen cooperation with political parties in Thailand, including the Pride of Thailand Party (Bhumjaithai), contributing to consolidating the political foundation and long-term orientation for relations between the two countries.

The Thai Prime Minister expressed high agreement with the major orientations proposed by the General Secretary and President; affirmed that he will promote the substantive "Three Connections" Strategy, actively coordinate with Vietnam to strengthen economic, trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, logistics and supply chains; expand cooperation in the fields of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, digital economy and artificial intelligence; strive to bring bilateral trade turnover to balanced and sustainable development, towards the goal of reaching 25 billion USD and further 50 billion USD in the future.
