The authority to resolve complaints and denunciations of the Government Inspectorate

The Government Inspectorate is responsible for organizing the reception of citizens; receiving and handling complaints and denunciations; handling complaints and denunciations according to the provisions of law.

The Government has issued Decree No. 109/2025/ND-CP stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Government Inspectorate.

Accordingly, the Government Inspectorate is a ministerial-level agency of the Government, performing the function of state management of inspection work, receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations and preventing and combating corruption and negativity nationwide.

Carry out inspection activities, receive citizens, resolve complaints and denunciations and prevent and combat corruption, waste and negativity according to the provisions of law.

The Government Inspectorate performs the tasks and powers as prescribed in the Government's Law, the Inspection Law, the Law on Citizenship, the Law on Complaints, the Law on Denunciations, the Law on Anti -Corruption and the Government's regulations on functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of ministries and ministerial -level agencies.

Regarding citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement, the Government Inspectorate is responsible for organizing citizen reception; receiving and handling complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections; handling complaints and denunciations according to the provisions of law; presiding over and coordinating with relevant agencies to carry out citizen reception tasks at the Central Citizen Reception Office;

At the same time, monitor, inspect and urge ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, and provincial People's Committees to receive citizens, resolve complaints, and enforce complaint resolution decisions;

Recommend the Prime Minister or competent person to apply necessary measures to end violations, consider responsibilities, and handle violators when detecting complaints that violate the law, causing damage to the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, agencies, and organizations;

Receive, classify and propose the settlement of denunciations under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister when assigned; verifying the content of denunciation, reporting of verification results, proposals for handling denunciations under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister when assigned;

Consider the settlement of complaints that Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of Government agencies, Chairmen of Provincial People's Committees have resolved but have shown signs of violating the law; in case there is a basis to believe that the settlement violates the law, the Prime Minister is recommended to consider and resolve them again...

Regarding the prevention and control of corruption, waste and negativity, the Government Inspectorate organizes, directs and guides the implementation of legal provisions on corruption prevention and control according to its authority or under the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and competent authorities;

Inspect the case with signs of corruption, waste and negativity according to authority; inspect the implementation of laws on corruption prevention and control, waste and negativity at ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, provincial People's Committees, enterprises, etc.
