Among the expected contents for the meeting, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly is expected to comment on the investment policy of Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.

Regarding this content, Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh will present a report briefly. After that, Chairman of the Economic Committee of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh will present a summary of the verification report.

Previously, in the Government report on 7.2 on the investment policy of investment projects on construction of Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) has adjusted the size Tu compared to the previous report on January 20.

Accordingly, the starting point of the railway at the rail connection location across the border between Lao Cai Railway Station and Ha Khau Bac Station (China), located in Lao Cai city; The end point at Ben Thach Huyen area, located in Hai Phong city.

The main line length is 390.9km and 3 branch routes about 27.9km. The project goes through 9 provinces and cities including: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Hai Phong.

Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway is a level 1 railway, 1,435mm. Preliminary total investment of about 203,231 billion dong (equivalent to about 8,369 billion USD), public investment.

At the report on January 20, the project has a total investment of about 194,929 billion dong (equivalent to about 8,027 billion USD).

The project proposes the main route (the section from Lao Cai station to Nam Hai Phong station, excluding the Hanoi Unit area) the design speed of 160 km/h; section through the Hanoi Unit area designed 120 km/h; The connecting routes and branch routes (the new rail - Lao Cai station; Nam Hai Phong - Lach Huyen Station section; branch route connecting Nam Dinh Vu Station to Dinh Vu Ben Vu area; branch routes connected to Yen Vien station, branch route connecting Nam Do Son station) design speed of 80 km/h.

The whole route is expected to arrange 18 stations including 3 stations of Lao Cai, Yen Thuong, Nam Hai Phong and 15 mixed stations. In addition, in order to perform technical operations for train running, arranging 14 technical operational stations.

Also in this afternoon 10.2, the National Assembly Standing Committee is expected to comment on the addition of socio -economic development in 2025 with the goal of growth of 8% or more.

In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee commented on the investment plan to supplement the charter capital of the period 2024 - 2026 of the parent company - Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation (VEC).
