Disciplinary action against Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee

The Prime Minister has disciplined Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, by reprimand.

On October 2, the Office of the Government announced that Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh had just signed Decision No. 1070/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on disciplinary action against Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province.

The decision clearly states that administrative discipline in the form of reprimand was imposed on Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, for violations and shortcomings in his work, and the Central Inspection Committee has imposed Party discipline.

Implementation period from the date of promulgation of Decision No. 1611-QD/UBKTTW dated July 31, 2024 of the Central Inspection Committee.

Previously, on July 15 and 16, 2024, the Central Inspection Committee held its 43rd meeting to review disciplinary action against party members.

After reviewing the inspection results when there were signs of violations and reviewing, proposing disciplinary action against the Party Committee of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, the Central Inspection Committee found that: The Party Committee of An Giang Provincial People's Committee violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations.

The Party Executive Committee of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee lacked responsibility and loosened its leadership and direction, allowing the Provincial People's Committee and a number of organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in the management and exploitation of natural resources and minerals in the province; a number of cadres and Party members were disciplined and criminally prosecuted.

The above violations of the Party Executive Committee of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee have caused serious consequences, risking large losses of the state budget, causing bad public opinion, reducing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the point of having to consider and handle disciplinary actions.

The Central Inspection Committee stated: The main responsibility for the above violations and shortcomings belongs to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for the terms 2015-2020, 2020-2025; the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee for the terms 2016-2021, 2021-2026; the Party Delegation of the An Giang Provincial People's Council for the term 2016-2021 and a number of individuals, including Mr. Le Van Phuoc, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Considering the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; based on Party regulations, the Central Inspection Committee decided to discipline Mr. Le Van Phuoc with a reprimand.
