On December 9, in Hanoi, Viettel Aerospace Institute held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.
President Luong Cuong attended and, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to Viettel Aerospace Institute for its outstanding achievements in researching and manufacturing high-tech strategic weapons for the Army and the country.
Also attending the ceremony were General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; leaders of the Party, State and Army.
According to the Office of the President, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong congratulated the collective of cadres, engineers and workers of Viettel Aerospace Institute and the Group; hoping that the unit will continue to promote intelligence, bravery and creativity to have more great achievements, contributing to firmly protecting the Fatherland.
Emphasizing that today's achievements and honors are just the beginning, in the context of the complex developments in the global political and security situation, the task of building a modern and self-reliant defense industry is more urgent than ever, the President requested the unit to master and develop modern technology. Along with that, it is necessary to complete the defense industry infrastructure; continue to invest in research, testing and production complexes that meet international standards, ensuring synchronization and self-containedness; build centers for testing and evaluating the quality of defense equipment, to better support research and product development projects.
The President noted the need to proactively contribute to building State mechanisms and policies to ensure consistency from research, production to application, promote research and development, technology transfer, and protect intellectual property rights for defense inventions.
The President requested that we continue to attach importance to and focus on building a clean and strong Party organization, associated with building a comprehensively strong "exemplary and typical" unit; developing high-quality human resources that are both professionally skilled and politically steadfast.
At the same time, regularly pay attention to the material and spiritual life and ensure absolute safety for cadres, experts, engineers and their families; strengthen cooperation with universities and research institutes at home and abroad to train and attract talents, meeting the development requirements of the high-tech defense industry.
The President expressed his deep belief that, with a high sense of responsibility and strong will, Viettel Group and Viettel Aerospace Institute will continue to reap even greater achievements, contributing to building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People's Army; continuing to promote the heroic tradition of the People's Armed Forces, the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the new period, always worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State, Army and people of the whole country.
