The Permanent Deputy Minister of Science and Technology has a new task

Permanent Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan is the Head of the Prime Minister's Working Group on science, technology development, and innovation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 2622/QD-TTg dated November 29, 2025 to establish the Prime Minister's Working Group on developing science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06 (Work Group).

According to the decision, Mr. Vu Hai Quan - Permanent Deputy Minister of Science and Technology will be the Head of the Team.

The Deputy Heads include: Mr. Ha Minh Hiep - Chief of Office, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Duy Ninh - Director of the Department of National Digital Transformation, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Pham Minh Hung - Director of the Department of Administrative Reform, Ministry of Home Affairs; Major General Vu Van Tan - Director of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security.

Members: Mr. Pham Dinh Nguyen - Director of the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Phu Hung - Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Engineering, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Minh Tan - Deputy Director of the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Minh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Institute of Digital Technology and Digital Transformation, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Council of Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Mr. Ta Hai Tung - Principal of the School of Information Technology and Communications, Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Mr. Vu Minh Khuong - Ly Quang Dieu Singapore School of Technology Policy, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Quang - Vice President of the Institute of Digital Technology and Digital Transformation, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Nguyen Quang - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Industry and Technology.

The Working Group has the function of researching, advising, advising, and providing standing assistance to the Prime Minister in analyzing technical and technological issues and proposing urgent, breakthrough, and inter-sectoral solutions; promptly proposing directional, operational plans and coordination mechanisms to ensure effective implementation of tasks on science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06.

The task of the Working Group is to analyze and forecast major technology trends in the country and the world, assess the multidimensional impact on Vietnam's socio-economic development to advise and recommend the Prime Minister to issue solutions and policies that are proactive and effective in adaptation.

Participate in giving comments and reviews on technical and technological contents for projects, programs, major reports related to science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and projects under the direction of the Prime Minister; perform other tasks assigned by the Prime Minister.

The Working Group is proactive in working with ministries, agencies, localities and enterprises; is requested to provide information, documents and necessary data to serve the performance of assigned functions and tasks.
