On the morning of November 28, the Vietnam Logistics Forum (VLF) 2025, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Da Nang City with the theme of Vietnam Logistics - Entering a new era, officially opened.
The forum was attended by Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The forum also had the presence of leaders of central departments, ministries, and branches; leaders of localities, delegates, speakers, and domestic and foreign partners.
The Vietnam Logistics Forum (VLF) is an annual event chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with localities, since 2013.
This is an activity to promote the synchronous development of the logistics service industry, strengthen the connection of logistics with production, import and export and create a space for dialogue between domestic and international management agencies, enterprises and associations.
In the country, 2025 is an important time for ministries, branches and localities to complete the goals set out in Decision No. 221/QD-TTg dated February 22, 2011 of the Prime Minister amending and supplementing Decision No. 200/QD-TTg dated February 14, 2017 on approving the Action Plan to improve competitiveness and develop Vietnam's logistics services to 2025.
At the same time, implementing the Vietnam Logistics Service Development Strategy for the period 2025 - 2035, with a vision to 2050, which was just signed by Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son on October 9, 2025.
In particular, the transition to a two-level local government organization model, along with the policy of promoting strong administrative reform, decentralization and delegation of power from the Government, developing the private economy and strongly applying science and technology in logistics management and operation, is opening a new phase of transformation, requiring close coordination between the central and local governments, between the public and private sectors.
Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien - Minister of Industry and Trade said that with the close and drastic direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, the active and effective participation of the Central and local Departments, Ministries, branches, especially the outstanding efforts of the business community, our country's logistics service industry has had quite strong development steps, increasing by an average of 14 to 16%/year. More than double the world average.
The scale of the Vietnamese logistics service market is about 45 to 50 billion USD, equivalent to 10% of GDP and about 5% of import-export turnover. Gradually affirming the brand and position of the industry in the region and the world.
At this Forum, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien suggested that delegates, based on practical experience in each industry, each field and locality, focus on exchanging and discussing to clarify the achieved results, limitations and weaknesses and causes, especially subjective causes.
Learning from experience in developing logistics services in our country. As well as identifying opportunities, advantages and challenges intertwined.
To "from there, give advice and recommend to competent authorities on solutions to support logistics service enterprises to promote internal resources, take advantage of opportunities to improve quality, operational efficiency and competitiveness. Building a brand, leading trends and service development policies in Vietnam in the coming time.
At the same time, propose strong and feasible policies to encourage and attract investment in the development of logistics infrastructure works, creating breakthrough momentum, promoting the strong and sustainable development of Vietnam's logistics industry in the new era" - the Minister of Industry and Trade emphasized.
